An Enduring Promise
Special Operations Warrior Foundation is unwavering in its commitment to honoring the sacrifice of our Special Operations Personnel. We provide comprehensive “Cradle to Career” educational funding and advocacy for the children of fallen Special Operators, children of deceased SOF spouses, and children of all Medal of Honor Recipients. Additionally, SOWF offers immediate financial assistance to severely wounded, ill, and injured active-duty Special Operations Personnel, ensuring they receive critical support during their time of need.

Spirit 03: The Battle of Khafji
Spirit 03 was one of three AC-130s providing nighttime support during the battle. As dawn approached on January 31, the other two gunships departed due to increased risk from enemy air defenses. Despite the heightened danger, Spirit 03 remained on station to support Marines engaged in combat.

Our mission is driven by a desire to honor the sacrifice made in service to our country by providing “cradle to career” educational support to children of fallen Special Operations Personnel and spouses as well as all Medal of Honor Recipients. From a “battlefield promise” made in 1980, the SOWF program has grown to include immediate financial support to severely wounded, injured, and ill Special Operators. By providing this support, SOWF aims to help these families build brighter futures despite the challenges they face due to the loss of a loved one.
